Cost monitoring and energy quality improvement systems as significant elements of increasing enterprise competitiveness.

The short presentation will discuss examples of IC-View power quality and cost monitoring systems implemented at industrial plants, as well as selected devices, such as filters and compensators, that reduce energy losses in various components of industrial power grids. In addition, the technical and economic effects of the implemented projects on the total cost of electricity consumed by production plants will be presented.

The energy cost of Industry 4.0 deployments – does Big Data mean big energy bills?

Andrzej Soldaty, Dyrektor Centrum Przemysłu 4.0 Politechniki Śląskiej

Andrzej Soldaty has tied his professional career to the field of industrial automation. In 1986- 1990, heading the Robotization Department at ROBRA “Chemoautomatics”, he participated in the development and implementation of the first industrial robot applications in the domestic chemical industry. The next 25 years he worked for the multinational Festo, a provider of industrial automation solutions and components. During this period, he participated in the development of a number of applications and implementation of automation projects in various industrial sectors. He participated in building and developing Festo in Poland, and also led international projects in Central and Eastern Europe. From 2010 to 2015, he was CEO of Festo sp. z o.o.
In 2016, he created the “Initiative for Polish Industry 4.0”. – a social movement bringing together representatives of industry, business, science, which initiates, supports and leads activities for the transformation of the national industrial sector.
In 2017, he was appointed leader of the “Future Industry Platform” project at the Ministry of Development. From March 2019 to December 2020, he served as Chairman of the Board of the Future Industry Platform Foundation. He actively participates in projects on the subject, including currently organizing the Center for Industry 4.0 at the Silesian University of Technology.
Andrzej Soldaty has a technical education in the field of mechanics and automation, and has completed doctoral studies in economics at the Institute of Economic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

During Warsaw Industry Week, the “Polish-Saxon Industrial Dialogue” will be held on November 8, with the aim of creating a platform for cooperation for companies on both sides of the Oder River.
